A supportive saddle for men and women that minimizes soft-tissue pressure, made entirely in the USA
The saddles are made with high quality, domestically-sourced materials, including Majilite synthetic leather covers, laminated carbon/fiberglass hybrid shells, open-cell polyurethane padding, and heat-treated, thin wall tubular steel rails, for a total weight around 200grams.
There’s an updated version in the works that can’t be shown quite yet. But it’s more of the same, just a little better.
The design prioritizes soft tissue comfort and overall stability. The channel is wide, so you can roll your hips forward for a healthy lower back, and still not feel like you’re sliding off the saddle or squashing your tender bits.
Catahoula has been under development for years (like, many, many, too many, years) with countless iterative refinements to design, materials & process. The first batch of 100 production saddles will be produced in 2021
Options will include a slim version for general use, a medium version with a little extra padding thickness, and a wider-nosed version meant for mountain biking, so you can plop right down at any point along it. Overall dimensions are approximately 140mm W x 270mm L.
It would be great to keep you updated on progress and availability. A long list of interested customers will also help scale production. Please enter your info below to signal your interest and stay in touch!
About
Catahoula is a project of Brian Williams, trail builder & designer for Mountain Bike Missoula. His background includes 10 years as a bike mechanic, a few as a map-maker for bike routes, and stints along the way as a welder, car mechanic, long-distance bicycle tourist, chainsaw operator, Cat 1 crit-scum, baristo, and general dirtbag.
Catahoula also refers to the breed of a very special dog.
